MAN-O-MAN

I just heard on the radio that Tim McGraw & Kenny Chesney are going on tour together in 2012.
The Brothers of the Sun Tour.  You can bet your ash I will be there!!!  They are going to all the larger stadiums.  The one closest to me is Dallas Stadium June 9, 2012.  Can you tell it's 7 months out and I'M THAT EXCITED!!!!!  Now do I plan a girls trip or couples weekend???  I've got plenty of time to figure that out until tickets go on sale.  LOL

I knew after waking up to a beautiful perfect rainbow that today was going to be a GREAT day!

Better than sex cake

BETTER THAN SEX CAKE
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 jar of caramel ice cream topping
1 can sweetened condensed milk
12 oz. Cool Whip
3 or 5 Heath Bar candy bars (you can buy packages if this instead of individual bars)
Prepare German chocolate cake mix according to package directions.
As soon as you take the cake out of the oven - poke holes in the cake (lots of holes, I used wooden spoon handle) and pour the can of sweetened condensed milk over the entire cake. As even as possible. Then pour the caramel ice cream topping over the entire cake. Refrigerate immediately. When cake is completely cool; top with Cool Whip and crushed Heath Bar candy. If you love caramel add more all over the top of the cool whip before adding the crushed Heath bars.

KEEP REFRIGERATED!

Just thought it would be fun to share this with everyone because I think IT'S SOOOO GOOD!!!!

30 Days of Thankfulness

IT'S NOVEMBER!!!!  Just might be my favorite month.  Maybe because I LOVE FALL, Thanksgiving is this month & It's my birthday month.
I have so much to be thankful for.  I thought it would be fun to journal and reflect upon what I am thankful for during the month of November.

01.  Thankful that I have the freedom to believe & worship my GOD and to know I am FORGIVEN!

02.  I have honestly been blessed with two handsome, healthy boys.  I know why God gave me life ~ to be a mother and love these two with all my heart.  For this I am beyond thankful.

03.  Thankful to have a devoted, loving, supportive, committed and giving husband that is a provider to his family.  This man has a passion for seeing youth succeed.  He has devoted years in our community as a coach.  Not everyone can do this and I respect the fact he has made such an impact in so many young lives.

04.  Thankful to have a home with heat!!!  It's getting COLD out there!!!

05.  Thankful to have found a church that I can call my own.  HARVEST CHURCH, Norman OK

06.  Thankful I have people in my life that love & accept me for who I am.

07.  Thankful for second chances!!!

08.  Thankful for MANY answered prayers the last couple of years and even for the prayers not answered that changed my life in the positive FOREVER!

09.  I am thankful to the rude guy that I extended an olive branch to and was turned away.
YOU OPENED MY EYES AND MADE ME REMEMBER WHY YOU ARE NOT IN MY LIFE!

10.  Thankful that I can be creative and crafty.

11.  Thankful to see happiness in the eyes of my boys!  Those moments are beyond words!

12.  Thankful for little things like family game nights.

13.  Thankful my home survived the hail, wind & lightening storms, ice storms, tornadoes & EARTHQUAKES of 2011.

14.  Thankful I am able to wake up and enjoy God saying GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

15.  Thankful my parents are still alive and in my life.

16.  Thankful Casey Canant is good at her job and makes me feel pretty at least once every 4-5 weeks.  Love you girl!

17.  Thankful for some simple things like candles & Scenty.  Such tiny items to bring simple pleasure and soothing peacefulness.

18.  Thankful for SEAT WARMERS in my car.  I am not alone on this one (Diana & Edith).

19.  Thankful for sports free weekends!  Oh, how I've missed thee........

20.  Thankful to share lunch dates with friends that are considerate, caring, reassuring & motivating!

25.  Thankful I am NOT going Black Friday Shopping this year!  There are a ton of crazies out there.

26.  Thankful we have AWESOME seats to the OU vs Iowa State game.

27.  Thankful for lazy Sundays spent with the fireplace going and my family together.

28.  Thankful GOD has blessed me with my health.  Got great news this month!

30.  ABUNDENTLY BLESSED & THANKFUL to have made it this far in 2011.  To know God is working in me and my family.  I have been surrounded by good people who love me and respect me.  You can't ask for much more than that.  What a peaceful feeling to know I AM LOVED!

Courage

Courage is admitting that you're afraid and facing that fear directly. It's being strong enough to ask for help and humble enough to accept it.

Courage is standing up for what you believe in without worrying about the opinions of others. It's following your own heart, living your own life, and settling for nothing less than the best for yourself.

Courage is daring to take a first step, a big leap, or a different path. It's attempting to do something that no one has done before and all others thought impossible.

Courage is keeping heart in the face of disappointment and looking at defeat not as an end but as a new beginning. It's believing that things will ultimately get better even as they get worse.

Courage is being responsible for your own actions and admitting your own mistakes without placing blame on others. It's relying not on others for your success, but on your own skills and efforts.

Courage is refusing to quit even when you're intimidated by impossibility. It's choosing a goal, sticking with it, and finding solutions to the problems.

Courage is thinking big, aiming high, and shooting far. It's taking a dream and doing anything, risking everything, and stopping at nothing to it make it a reality.

Happy Birthday Juli

Today is HALLOWEEN!  Hope all the super sweet trick-or-treaters have a SPOOKTACULAR time tonight.  Get lots of treats but please stay safe.  I certainly look forward to seeing family & friends all dressed up.  Hopefully they stop by The Ash House!

This weekend we had a surprise 30th birthday party for my youngest sister Juli.  She lives in Florida now so planning a party with our large family, her friends from Arkansas and here was pretty easy.  A special thanks to Brookelyn Yi (her childhood best friend) who really pulled it off!!!  It meant a lot to me that her friends drove such a long distance to be apart of it.  Loved all the family that made it out too.  It was great seeing everyone!!  Very sweet and I know she enjoyed it!

The picture below has now become a personal favorite.  We have not taken a pic together in a long time.  At least not one that we were all being serious, looking forward and not joking or messing with one another.  Oh and not in our PJ's.....a normal for us King girls.

It would not be right if I did not add this picture with our soon to be sister.
J.C. & Tissa will be married next May.  She's already like a sister to me and such an awesome addition to our family!!!!  Love you TISSA!

Enjoy some pictures from the party:
