Encouragement

I am one happy Momma right now!!
I enjoy reading blogs and stumbled across one today that hosts swaps.  I use to join scrapbooking swaps ALL the time.  It was yet another outlet that allowed me to be creative and brought me joy.  Meeting new people and connecting with them is always FUN too.

Today I found Kaitlyn's post on Wifessionals Blog

cara (car-rah) noun : beloved friend
Awesome things in the mail + Meeting new women + Encouragement = Cara Box

If you are interested in joining this months swap click on the link above and sign up.  Please do NOT sign up if you have no intentions of actually participating.  Don't ruin the fun for someone else.

I have to agree with Kaitlyn, I too remember a day when sending cards and actually picking up the phone to let someone know you are thinking of them has almost totally become a thing of the past.  It's all about social media, texting and emails.  I still LOVE to send handwritten and sometimes even handmade cards/gifts.  I think it goes a little above and beyond to let someone know you love them.

Speaking of encouragement let me tell you about another group I am proud to be a part of, it's called COFFEE AND JESUS.  I have mentioned it on a previous post but it deserves being mentioned again.  If you are not connected YOU NEED TO BE LADIES!  We started as group of 4 and this past weekend we had 16 of us discussing the book of Psalms.  Plus, ladies around the US have started their own local groups and are connecting nationwide.  I'm all for coffee, fellowship and spending time with like minded ladies.

Here is a post I shared this Saturday after our meeting:
With every triumph, every struggle & every lesson being learned in my life it is truly refreshing to know I am NOT alone! I am blessed to a part of an amazing group of ladies who offer acceptance, compassion and healing (without even knowing it). I enjoy being able to relate and not feel judged!
THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY HEART HAPPY!

SIMPLE WAYS TO ENCOURAGE OTHERS:
Inspired to share and taken from POWER TO CHANGE
Written by:  Stacy Wiebe

Write someone a note.  Tell them that you’re praying for them. Tell them what you’re praying. You can pray specific Scriptures for individuals.

Make celebration a more regular part of your relationships. Celebrate others’ victories, large and small-with a note, with coffee together, with a special meal, a congratulatory phone call.

Realize the power of presence. Just being there is encouraging! When you’re with others, you’re telling them that they’re important.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

"You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes and encourage them in their pursuits.  Whe we wll help one another, everybody wins." ~ Jim Stovall

Tailgating Like Champions

This past Saturday we were tailgating like champions.  No matter the outcome of the game it was so much fun watching people just enjoying life.  We enjoyed all the folks we met, loved ALL the yummy game day foods and mostly enjoyed spending time with a ton of great people!

Football, Fall, Family & Friends

Honestly, I have issues.  I just downloaded 2,452 pictures from my phone to my laptop.  It felt like it took FOREVER!  Now I have to sort them and put them in their own chronological folders.  I am addicted to Pinterest & Instagram.  I LOVE PICTURES!  I love taking them & I love sharing them!!!  If you don't do either, you should.  It's fun & creative.  It helps me to see the happiness and beauty in the smallest of things.  Trust me it gives you a sense of everything you have to be thankful for because of Him.  It's fun, admit it!

Here is a little update as to what kept us busy since the last update.  It's been somewhat of a difficult month/season for The Ash's.  It's been an adjustment and a valuable learning experience.  We WILL get through this!  We are stronger than the obstacles we face!!  No matter what you are facing, work hard to find the positive in the situation.  It's hard but worth it.  Extremley thankful for my friends that have helped so much during this time.  YOU ROCK!!

Thank you Lord for giving me strength.  I fail daily but YOU and YOU alone pick me back up and get me on my way again!  I have to remember He won't allow me to go through something that I can't handle.  Everyone wants happiness!  Nobody wants pain but you can't have a rainbow without the rain!  I like that saying.....

If you ever make time to just get away may I suggest Beavers Bend area near Broken Bow, OK.  BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY!!!  It didn't feel like fall since days were in the 80's and nights were in the 70's but regardless it was relaxing and fun!  Shared some yummy foods (a lot were taken from Pinterest).  Visited Girls Gone Wine, watched a lot of football and an old scary movie, enjoyed the hot tub & wine and most of all enjoyed time with our favorite men!  Here are some highlights and did I mention BOOMER SOONER.  WE BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF TEXAS!!!  Made the trip all that more exciting!

Good Times!

He's crazy like that.

These two know how to have fun.

I told you it was relaxing....

This past weekend was spent on a road trip visiting my dear friend Barbara.  Thank you for making this trip possible for me ladies!  Diana & I hit the road laughing and singing all the way to Millington, TN.  It finally felt more like fall.  The leaves were really changing color and I must say Arkansas is a beautiful state to pass through this time of year.  This weekend was meant 100% for catching up, tons of much needed laughter, eating, visiting an orchard, fireplace, naps, chick flicks and more WINE!  Barbara is seriously the hostess with the mostest!!!  So glad we were all able to make this trip such an enjoyable & memorable one.  I am so blessed to have friends to share moments like this with.  Di & Barb, I Love you both dearly!!  Thank you for being such an important part of my life after ALL these years!  True friendship is PRICELESS!!

Coffee & Jesus

I feel blessed to be apart of a ladies group called COFFEE & JESUS.
A movement of women who are seeking to become more Christ-like together. Molding and shaping our hearts to please the Lord.  If you are not in the greater OKC area you can form your own group and meet anywhere NATIONWIDE!  Our group meets every other Saturday at Chick-fil-a in Moore, OK (stop by Starbucks first for a good cup of coffee, then head on over to chick-fil-a)  If you are interested in joining us personally please contact me crown_jewels@sbcglobal.net  We'd be happy to have you.  Our next gathering is this Saturday, October 27th @ 9:00.

If you get the chance to join this local group you will meet an overwhelmingly passionate group of beautiful ladies.  I assure you friendships will blossom and hearts will be filled with worship, compassion, understanding and fulfilment!  I honestly hope you get to meet Katie Ramirez.  This group is because of her efforts!  She has no idea the impact she has made in my life.  Love you Katie!  She has a blog called A Heart Consumed.  I think you will find it beneficial.  You can also visit Feeding My Temple on Facebook.

Over the last two weeks we've been reading through the book of Psalms.  Pick your favorite chapter and share it with us.  If you are on twitter or instagram us the following hashtag #COFFEEANDJESUS ~~  I'm excited to see what scriptures touched the ladies the most.  You have so many to pick from, this might be tough for me.  Not a bad problem to have.....  I hope you enjoy your time of getting lost in worship with your favorite Psalm.

For more information on starting your own local COFFEE & JESUS please click HERE to sign up your group or get plugged into a group.

Wisdom of the Soul

I read this and thought it was worthy of sharing.  I borrowed it from To Thine Own Self Be True (from their facebook page).  ENJOY!

WISDOM OF THE SOUL

1.     No one can ruin your day without YOUR permission

2.     Most people will be about as happy, as they decide to be.

3.     Others can stop your temporarily, but only you can do it permanently.

4.     Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

5.     Success stops when you do.

6.     When your ship comes in, make sure you are willing to unload it.

7.     You will never "have it all together."

8.     Life is a journey ~ Not a destination.  Enjoy the trip!

9.     The biggest lie on the planet:  "When I get what I want I will be happy."

10.    The best way to escape your problem is to solve it.

11.    I've learned that ultimately "takers" lose and "givers" win.

12.    Life's precious moments don't have value, unless they are shared.

13.    If you don't start, it's certain you won't arrive.

14.    We often fear the things we want the most.

15.    Yesterday was the deadline for all complaints.

16.    Look for opportunities....not guarantees.

17.    Life is what's coming NOT what was.

18.    Success is getting up one more time.

19.    When things go wrong don't go with them.

20.    Now is the most interesting time of all.

21.    Sometimes the majority only means that all the fools are on the same side.

22.    A person who asks a question might be a fool for five minutes, but a person who doesn't ask, is a fool for ever.

23.    A best friend is like a four leaf clover ~ hard to find & lucky to have.

24.    I don't have to attend every argument I am invited to.

25.    Our eyes are placed in front because it is more important to look ahead than to look behind.
